FAQ

How many delegate places are available?

Due to space limitations, the full capacity for this conference will be 300 delegates. For health & safety considerations, we cannot accept any more than 300 delegates.

Who can apply for a delegate ticket?

Anyone can apply for a delegate ticket. However, priority will be given to current Scottish Raptor Study Group (SRSG) and Raptor Research Foundation (RRF) members. NB: Membership of either group does not guarantee a place but will increase your chances! SRSG membership is by invitation only, but RRF membership is open to anyone with an interest in raptors. You can apply for membership online through the RRF website (click here for link: http://raptorresearchfoundation.org).

Who can apply to present a paper/poster?

Anyone can submit an abstract for consideration by the scientific committee (click here for information about how to submit an abstract). You do not need to be a member of either SRSG or RRF to submit an abstract for consideration. Please note: as of February 2009, the scientific programme is full. If you wish to submit an abstract for the waiting list, please follow the instructions on the 'programme' page of this website.

When can I register?

Registration is currently open.

What happens if I register now but then have to later cancel?

Up until 1st June 2009, a refund will be given for delegate tickets, minus a £25 administration fee. After 1st June 2009, no refunds will be available for delegate tickets, unless we can find a replacement for your seat. Refunds for social events and fieldtrips will only be given if we can find a replacement for your seat and you will incur a £10 administration charge for each event/fieldtrip that you cancel. Please think wisely before booking your social events and fieldtrip tickets!

What happens if I try to register but all the places have been taken?

Your name will be added to the waiting list and you will be notified by e-mail when a place becomes available, with priority given to current SRSG and RRF members.

Will my spouse/partner/child be able to attend the conference?

Anyone wishing to attend the scientific sessions MUST register for a delegate place. Due to health & safety considerations, spouses/partners/children will not be allowed access to the scientific programme rooms unless they have registered as a delegate. However, spouses/partners/children ARE eligible to accompany you at social events / and on fieldtrips (provided you buy them a ticket!).

How do I sign up for social events/fieldtrips?

You will be given the opportunity to sign up for the various social events/fieldtrips when you register. You may also sign up for a social event/fieldtrip at a later date after registration, if places are available. Please check the social event and fieldtrip pages on this website for current availability.

What if I sign up for a social event/fieldtrip now, but then have to later cancel?

You will be given a refund (minus a £10 administration fee) for each event/fieldtrip ONLY if we can re-allocate your place to another delegate. Unfortunately, if we cannot find a replacement for your seat, we will be unable to provide a refund.

If I have a vendor table, will I be entitled to a free delegate ticket?

Vendors will be allocated a restricted-access ticket. This means vendors will not be able to attend the scientific presentations, but will have access to the rest of the conference. If vendors wish to attend the scientific presentations, they MUST register for a delegate place. We expect vendors to be at their vendor tables throughout the day.
