Conference Accommodation Overview
Pitlochry offers a wide range of accommodation options for a diversity of budgets, for students and professionals alike. We will post information on these pages for several recommended options, but of course you are free to select other choices if you prefer.
Delegates are responsible for making their own accommodation bookings and the cost of accommodation is NOT included in the conference registration fee. (NB: the registration fee will include free mid-morning and mid-afternoon tea/coffee and a free finger buffet lunch each day).
We have negotiated a discount rate for delegates at two places: at the conference venue, the Atholl Palace Hotel, and at Kindrogan Field Centre. Many of the rooms at these venues are shared occupancy and are thus a cheaper rate. Delegates wishing to share occupancy are responsible for finding their own room mates.

We have negotiated a special delegate rate for accommodation at the conference venue, the Atholl Palace Hotel in Pitlochry. This exclusive hotel has a total of 106 rooms and at full capacity the hotel can accommodate 219 people. All rooms have en-suite facilities.

Single (one single bed) = 10 rooms available.
Double (one double bed) = 46 rooms available.
Twin (two single beds) = 31 rooms available.
Trio (three single beds) = 4 rooms available.
Multiple room (one double and one single bed) = 10 rooms available.

Important!!!! All bookings at the Atholl Palace must be made directly with the hotel by email or by calling. The hotel’s on-line booking system will not accept reservations for the days of the conference.

We have negotiated a special delegate rate for delegate accommodation at the Kindrogan Field Centre, which is approximately 12 miles away from Pitlochry.
Special discount rates
Bed & Breakfast at £25 per person.
Bed & Breakfast & Dinner at £35 per person. (Dinner consists of a three-course meal).
Accommodation comprises basic but comfortable bedrooms sleeping between 2 and 5 guests per room. Other facilities include a natural history library, table tennis, pool, satellite TV and a small (but well-stocked) bar.
Daily minibus travel to and from the conference can be arranged with the field centre staff.
To ensure you receive the discounted rate, please mention that you are attending the 2009 Raptor Conference when you make your booking.
All bookings should be made directly with the Kindrogan Field Centre.

OTHER SUGGESTED ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
Dundarach Hotel www.dundarach.co.uk This is a mid-range budget hotel at the bottom of the driveway to the conference venue (i.e. a 3 - 4 minute walk away). It is cheaper than the conference hotel (Atholl Palace), but still in close proximity so you won't miss out on the action! It is likely that they will offer reduced rates if you are booking for 3+ nights.
Acarsaid Hotel www.acarsaidhotel.com This is another mid-range budget hotel, approx 5 min walk from the conference venue. It is likely that they will offer reduced rates if you are booking for 3+ nights.
Carra Beag Guesthouse www.carrabeag.co.uk This is a low-budget guesthouse, situated in the heart of Pitlochry, approx 10 min walk from the conference venue. They offer super-low rates, ideal for those of you on a very tight budget, especially good for students!
Pitlochry Backpackers http://www.scotlandstophostels.com/pitlochry_backpacker_accommodation.php A 10 minute walk from the conference venue, this is another cheap option, with dorm rooms available (£13 per night) as well as ensuite twins and doubles (£35 per night). Can provide breakfast for £1.90 - this is exceptional value! Ideal for students or those on a very tight budget.
